Rep. Lauren Boebert’s estranged husband, Jayson Boebert, has come to her defense amidst the backlash she faced for her behavior during a performance of “Beetlejuice” last week, which led to her removal from the theater.
In a Facebook post on Monday, Jayson Boebert appealed for understanding and compassion toward Lauren during what he described as a challenging period. He expressed the belief that she deserves an opportunity to seek forgiveness and rebuild trust, despite their personal struggles. Jayson acknowledged his own role in their difficulties and expressed confidence that both of them would emerge stronger from this experience.
During the incident at a Denver theater, Lauren Boebert and a male companion were asked to leave the performance due to disruptive behavior, including vaping, singing, and taking flash photographs. The theater staff even had to threaten to involve the police before they finally complied. In addition, video evidence emerged showing Lauren Boebert vaping, contradicting initial denials made by her spokesperson.
Lauren Boebert, who married Jayson Boebert in 2006, initiated divorce proceedings in May, citing “irreconcilable differences.” In his Facebook post, Jayson praised her as an exceptional wife, mother, and grandmother, while also taking responsibility for his actions and expressing deep regret for the choices made during their marriage.

He conveyed his unwavering support for her, praising her as one of the hardest-working individuals he knows, emphasizing her selflessness and overflowing love. Jayson also voiced his distress over the criticism directed at her, acknowledging his role in the situation and asserting that she doesn’t deserve such treatment.
In response to the backlash stemming from her theater incident, Lauren Boebert issued an apology for her actions and for initially denying her use of a vape. She acknowledged the difficulty and humility she experienced over the past few days and expressed genuine regret for the unintended harm her actions caused the community.
In a recent interview with TMZ, the lawmaker disclosed that she would be canceling all future date nights. She shared her commitment to providing levity and alleviating people’s burdens, highlighting the weight placed on voters when she becomes the subject of controversy. Lauren humorously mentioned the importance of checking party affiliations before going on a date, seemingly referencing reports that her date at the performance was a Democrat.
